The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd. is the largest bank in Japan, which was established on January 1, 2006, with the merger of the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, Ltd. and UFJ Bank Ltd. The bank serves as the core retail and commercial banking arm of the Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group.
Its traditional client base is made up of Japanese corporates, however, overseas corporate lending increased 35% in the nine months until December 31, 2011. The bank has steadily increased its tier 1 capital ratios from 7.76% in 2009 to 13.04% as reported in February 2012, and its credit ratings have been unaffected by developments in Europe – Standard & Poor’s assigned BTMU’s most recent series of senior unsecured bonds an A-plus rating (as at February 2012).

March of Dimes March for Babies : The Bank of MUFJ Gives Nonprofit Service
The March of Dimes March for Babies is a charity walk to support important research and programing to help prevent premature births and support infant health.
This is the largest charity event for BTMU Americas , and in 2011 over 200 employees from the MUFG Group participated, making donations of over $28,000.
Page Turners
Page Turners began in the spring of 2009 as an activity in which volunteers read books to children aged from kindergarten to grade six.
The program aims to give children the chance to be exposed to books, and to cultivate their creativity.
For the volunteers, this program offers an enjoyable time sharing their favorite childhood books with children.
Walk for Millions
We participated in Hong Kong’s largest charity event, the Walk for Millions.
The event collects donations for charity, with participants walking about 10 kilometers on the island of Hong Kong. The MUFG Group participated this year with a total of 231 employees, and combined with sponsored donations from business partners, donated a Group record of HK$262,000 (about 2.6 million yen). Most of the funds went to needy families and children.
