ADA-ES, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Advanced Emissions Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq:ADES) a holding entity for a family of companies that provide emissions solutions to customers in the power generation and other industries. Our sister companies include: BCSI, LLC. and Clean Coal Solutions, LLC.
ADA-ES, Inc. was founded in 1996 to apply the knowledge gained from previous research and development towards developing commercially viable emission control solutions to the coal-fired industry. Through our proven fleet of emissions control technologies and one of the most highly recognized team of industry experts, ADA has become the most recommended and trusted name in the air emissions control industry.
Throughout our history, ADA-ES has worked with the Department of Energy’s National Energy Technology Laboratory (DOE/NETL), industry experts and various utilities to commercialize viable, cost-effective solutions to improve coal fired power plants, cement kiln and industrial boiler emissions performance. ADA is the forefront in innovative technology breakthroughs, and continues to develop new commercial technologies for emission capture. As the industry faces new emissions control regulations, ADA will be there to provide the solution.
ADA-ES wants to make “clean coal” more than just a marketing term. The company makes environmental technology systems and specialty chemicals to reduce emissions at coal-burning power plants. It offers integrated mercury control systems, as well as flue gas conditioning and combustion aid chemicals. ADA-ES provides consulting and testing services and mercury measurement equipment. It also has a joint venture with NexGen Refined Coal to market technology that reduces emissions of nitrogen oxides and mercury from some treated coals. The company has three reportable segments: Refined Coal, Emission Control, and CO2 Capture.
ADA-ES, Inc. (“ADA”), an Advanced Emissions Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADES) company, announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to license ClearChem® Technology; a patented furnace sorbent injection technology to control sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions from coal fired boilers. The addition of ClearChem Technology expands ADA’s industry leading product lines for low-cost emissions compliance, and provides an integrated solution to meet the Mercury and Air Toxic Standards (MATS) and other EPA regulations.
ClearChem Technology injects a specially prepared reagent of sub-micron sized particles, commonly calcium carbonate, directly into a boiler or furnace. It provides fuel flexibility to burn a wider range of coals, enhances Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) capabilities and works in conjunction with other control technologies such as Dry Sorbent Injection systems. ClearChem Technology has proved successful in multiple full-scale boiler trials, and ADA has additional customer demonstrations planned.
Ms. Jean Bustard, President of ADA commented, “ClearChem Technology is a promising new technology that is ideal for smaller power plants that face the challenge of meeting MATS compliance at a reasonable cost. We are pleased to expand our offerings in a complementary way to our existing products and help meet our customers’ needs.”
ADA will be exhibiting at the Energy, Utility & Environment Conference (EUEC) in Phoenix, Arizona from February 3-5th 2014 and will have representatives on hand to answer questions pertaining to this technology and its application in the industry. ADA-ES Inc Donate the Nonprofit Organizations.
The company works under 501 c 3 rule through Employee Gift Matching program. Giving back to the community is a hallmark of our corporate culture. And as a result, working here means teaming up to help others. Here are a few examples of how the Foundation supports our employees’ charitable giving and community involvement:
Employee Gift Matching. The Foundation matches employee donations of $25 or more made to eligible nonprofits up to $10,000 per employee, per year. Unlike many matching gift programs, the Foundation has very few restrictions. Most IRS-recognized charitable nonprofits are eligible for a matching grant. In this way, the Foundation affirms where you choose to give and volunteer.
Employee Volunteer Matching Program. The Foundation matches volunteer time when employees work for an eligible nonprofit at a rate of $15 per hour up to 60 hours, per employee, per year.
Five-Year Anniversary Benefit. On the occasion of your fifth anniversary at RealNetworks, the Foundation will invite you to direct a $500 honorary grant to an eligible nonprofit of your choosing.
The Foundation is a separate organization, but engages our employees in a meaningful way through its charitable grant making. This leads to one of the most unique employee benefits: The opportunity to serve on the Grant Review team, and identify the proposals that will deliver the most community impact.
